What is the VA-ECAP?
Virginia Early Childhood Administrator Professional Credential (VA-ECAP) is an online credentialing program offered by The Source for Learning, Inc. (SFL) that is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Two Levels - One Credential!
The VA-ECAP is uniquely designed to support professionals at varying stages in their education process. Whether you hold a CDA (unexpired)/Early Childhood Development C.S.C.(ECD C.S.C.), an AA or a higher degree you are eligible to enroll in the VA-ECAP!
Level I – CDA (unexpired) OR Early Childhood Development Career Studies Certificate Recipients: Completing the VA-ECAP courses qualify for a credential and a couple of courses may count towards an AA degree.
Level II – Already hold an AA degree in ECE/CD or a higher degree? Earn your credential!

College Credit and Clock hours
Earn college credits for Child Development courses offered by Virginia community colleges and clock hours for non-credit Leadership & Management courses offered by SFL (Optional: CEUs offered for non-credit Leadership & Management courses by Old Dominion University.)
Please note: At this time, equivalency courses in lieu of CHD 120, CHD 205, SFL LM 101, and SFL LM 102 are not accepted as requirements for receiving the VA-ECAP Credential.
